Flower Pressing Workshop

In this two-part class, we will be preserving flowers using traditional pressing methods! You will learn...

  • how to handle plants with care by using floral tweezers, mod podge glue and trimming scissors

  • the art of deconstructing pre-press and reassembling post-press

  • how to use blotting paper & cardboard to separate out plant layers and extract moisture appropriately

  • the art of designing your final piece using the 3 most popular designs: bouquet-style, meadow-style & abstract-style

  • to appreciate the process by practicing

CLASS #1: JULY 30TH, 5:30PM-7:30PM

  • trim plants

  • deconstruct flower heads

  • arrange pieces in the press in appropriate layers

supplies provided = plant scissors, blotting paper, cardboard, glue, paint brushes, flowers, floral tweezers, matte paper & snacks!

supplies to bring = plant press, plants/flowers (optional), frame(s) to design your final piece

CLASS #2: SEPTEMBER 10TH, 5:30PM-7:30PM

  • open presses with care using floral tweezers

  • reconstruct flowers/stems

  • glue down pieces in a design of your choosing
